Perm authorities take measures to limit the impact of the world crisis.

Last week, Perm Mayor Igor Shubin and members of the Committee for Stable Social and Economic Development discussed the crisis management program developed by Perm City Administration. The program included a number of measures aimed to limit the impact of the world crisis on the economic situation in Perm. Some measures are already in use, others are still being developed.

One of the measures is provision of employment opportunities for Perm citizens. The City Employment Center is holding professional development courses for those who are in need of work. Through the Center, 1,065 citizens found jobs in February 2009. According to the Center, there are currently 3,414 open positions in Perm.

A number of measures aim to provide support to local businesses. One of them - preserving the size of the uniform tax on imputed income. It has been on the same level for 3 years. In addition, the basic rate of payment for installation and usage of outdoor advertising has been recently cut down.

Another effective tool of business support is improving the land concession procedure . The new procedure will lessen the amount of time needed for document processing to 1-2 weeks.

The Perm City authorities continue weekly personal receptions and consultations of entrepreneurs

At the end of the meeting, Igor Shubin told the Committee to implement as many measures as possible and to further develop the program.
